How to use Facebook 360 Videos and Photos in your Marketing Mix
Facebook is quickly proving to be a major player in the video sharing race.
Not only is Facebook getting over 4 billion video views per day – it is directly taken on Google’s YouTube in a head on “Video War” with the release of it’s latest platform update – Facebook 360 Videos and Photos.
Facebook 360 Videos and Photos are changing the way we consume videos for ever.
Unlike a standard YouTube Video, with Facebook 360, marketers and publishers can now stream and share their most engaging and interactive content in a new way which brings the viewer inside their world through 360 photos and videos.
While creating 360 degree photos are within most people’s reach – the 360 degree videos will require special hardware – also designed and built by Facebook.
Called Surround 360 – it’s an open, high-quality 3D-360 video capture system…
Facebook are currently open-sourcing the 360 video camera and its software to further accelerate the growth of the 3D-360 ecosystem they are creating before our very eyes.
Facebook Developers can leverage the designs and code, while content creators can use the camera in their film and video productions to record all 360 degrees of a scene all at the same time. Then when Facebook users are watching the video on Facebook they can choose what angle they want to see the video from. This will be done on desktop by the Facebook user dragging around the video they are watching with cursor. On your mobile device you’ll be able to simply use your finger or turn your device around in your hand.
Facebook 360 Video is available on iOS and Android devices and of course, on the web.

Now whilst not everyone can quickly grab their own 3D-360 video capture system to start filming their own 360 degree three dimensional videos – they can start creating 360 degree photos by using their iOS device or Samsung Galaxy phones.
You can simply take a take a panorama or photosphere using your iPhone or Samsung Phone and then Facebook will do the rest. Upload it to Facebook and share with your fans, friends and followers.
The ways to start using Facebook 360 Videos and Photos in your marketing mix are only going to be limited by your imagination…
